The New Nexus 7 – Why Hello There…

Yesterday, Google unveiled it’s successor to the wildly popular original Nexus 7. The new Nexus 7 sports the title as the highest resolution 7 inch tablet with a resolution of full 1080p, which is 323ppi. This makes games and text as clear as a print magazine, this is what Google claimed during the presentation. Whether this is true is doubtful, but there’s no doubt that this is a fantastic screen. Other specifications include:

  • 1.5 Ghz Quad-Core Snapdragon S4 Pro Processor (A bit dated for a new device from google)
  • 2GB of RAM
  • It comes in 16GB, 32GB and 32GB LTE models
  • It’s dimensions are 114mm x 200mm x 8.65mm
  • 5mp rear facing camera and 1.2mp front facing camera
  • 3950 mAh battery (Up to 9 hours of HD playback)
  • Wireless Charging
  • Stereo Speakers
  • NFC
  • HDMI out via slimport

It is also the first device to ship officially with android 4.3 bring a minor update to us all including restricted profiles and low energy bluetooth. The device will cost £199 for 16 GB (Wifi only) , £239 for 32 GB (Wifi only).  You can pre-order over at the play store, but only if in selected areas.
