VKontakte has confirmed that Whistle Blower Edward Snowden will not be joining them, founder Pavel Durov confirmed a much to TechCrunch today. Snowden’s lawyer announced Snowden’s employment at VKontakte (VK) yesterday, Durov writes that both the stories and rumors are untrue.
Last August VKontake offered Snowden a job in the company the same day he received a year long asylum sentence in Russia. That job invite read:
“We invite Edward Snowden to Petersburg and will be happy if he decides to join the star team of programmers at VKontakte,” Pavel Durov, one of the founders of the St. Petersburg-based VKontakte, Russia’s answer to Facebook, said on his profile.
